A popular doctor from a hit Channel 5 observational documentary show returned to his former school to give a fascinating lecture to staff and students.

Dr Amir Khan, who appears on GPs: Behind Closed Doors and features regularly on BBC Breakfast and ITV This Morning, also enjoyed a socially distanced tour of BGS during his highly anticipated visit.

The GP’s lecture was streamed live as part of BGS’s ‘In Conversation’ events which have featured lectures from many of the school’s inspirational Old Bradfordians.

Dr Khan, who left BGS in 1999, recently published his Sunday Times bestseller, The Doctor Will See You Now, charting the highs and lows of his 15 years as a doctor. He is a partner in one of the UK’s busiest surgeries and is a GP trainer and honorary senior lecturer at Bradford and Leeds universities.

Lindsey Davis, development director at BGS, said: “We were delighted to welcome Amir back to school and to show him how the school’s facilities have expanded and developed since he was last here. Our ‘In Conversation’ events have proved really popular and Amir’s lecture was no exception. We’re grateful he took the time out of his busy diary to come and see us.”
