Junior School Pastoral Care

Outstanding pastoral support contributes to the happiness of Bradford Grammar Junior School pupils, creating a positive, friendly atmosphere for all. We work closely with parents to ensure each child receives the best possible pastoral care during their time at BGS.

Happiness is the key to academic excellence, which is why we prioritise the well-being of our pupils through pastoral care.

We aim to develop self-esteem, confidence and independence in order to equip our pupils with the resilience to cope with life’s challenges.

Our pastoral care does not end when the bell rings. We are here to support your family before and after school, should you need us to do so. We know it can be tricky to juggle work and childcare, which is why we offer supervised care from 7.45am and up to 6pm. From a supervised space for homework to outdoor play and board games we will ensure those hours are well spent.

Beyond the classroom, we encourage students to participate in physical exercise and pursue their individual interests.

Our inspiring, experienced and insightful teachers promote a culture of aspiration by creating the conditions for pupils to achieve, and encouraging them to succeed.

The strong bond between our teachers and pupils fosters active engagement in the learning process.

Our academic success is based on trust, mutual respect and enjoyment. Learning is limitless with the right encouragement. Our teaching staff have a genuine desire to help pupils realise their potential, and go the extra mile to ensure they do.

We ensure that every child receives the attention they deserve.

From making friends in the classroom to participating in clubs and activities, our team of form teachers, school nurses and work together to promote our pupils’ happiness and progress.

Pupils who need extra help are quickly identified and supported by their teachers.

“Ayesha is ever so happy coming to school every day. That smile on her face is priceless for a parent.”
