Two sisters from Bradford Grammar Junior School took part in a dazzling dance show in Yeadon.

Sisters Isla D, ten, and Sophie, six, displayed ballet, tap and jazz routines, including a song and dance number from popular musical, Annie, during the show at Yeadon Town Hall.

The Year 5 and Year 2 Clock House pupils, who have both been dancing since they were two years old, practice for more than ten hours per week. In the run-up to the production, they rehearsed with other pupils at their dance school CC Dance Company, in Shipley.

Their proud mum Rachel, said: “The girls worked really hard for months leading up to the show. I love seeing them dancing and their confidence increasing every time they get up on stage.”

Isla and Sophie were able to demonstrate their growing skills and passion for dance at the show. Sophie said: “I love performing on stage. My favourite thing about the dance show was dancing to Boogie Wonderland and Hairspray!”

Isla, whose favourite dancing is tap, added: “The best thing about the show was being able to showcase all my hard work.”

The sisters take part in a different themed dance show every two years. This year’s choice, The Best of The Musicals, was Isla’s third show and Sophie’s second. Alongside taking part in dance shows, the two partake in competitions. Sophie has qualified for the All England Dance Regional Finals in a number of her solos and both sisters have won multiple awards for their hard work and incredible talent.

The dancing duo’s abilities are continuously fostered by the supportive and encouraging environment at Clock House. Sophie said: “I really like all of my teachers and love the clubs you can go to at lunchtime.”

“Everybody is really kind and I enjoy all of the sporting activities” added Isla.

“The best thing about the show was being able to showcase all my hard work.”
