Your Future

A strong sense of community stitches together every facet of our Senior School and Sixth Form, creating platforms for students to explore their identity and map out their future.

Higher Education and Careers

We are immensely proud of the opportunities open to our students throughout their time at Bradford Grammar School and beyond.

We understand that BGS is a stepping stone towards a happy and fulfilling career which is why we provide in depth support concerning future career paths. We treat each student as an individual, supporting their aspirations with sound advice and regular guidance.

Practical help from our Higher Education and Careers Department enables students to explore suitable subject choices, degrees and jobs. Form periods offer time for focus and reflection upon next steps.

We commit to assisting our students with university applications even after they have left school.

The Higher Education and Careers Department is situated at the heart of the Sixth Form Centre allowing students easy access to support.

Higher Education staff regularly email opportunities and information to students. Students also have access to Unifrog, an award-winning, online careers platform which brings into one place every university course, apprenticeship and college course in the UK.

We also provide specialist advice to students applying to competitive courses such as Oxbridge, Medicine and Dentistry. We are very proud of the success of our students in these areas.

There is a programme of visiting speakers, including Old Bradfordians and parents talking about their experiences and university admissions officers. This also includes advice on GAP years and alternatives to the traditional UCAS route.

We pride ourselves on our “open door” policy and encourage students to seek advice from us whenever they like during their time at BGS.
