Inspiring Excellence, On and Off the Court

At Bradford Grammar School, we believe young athletes shouldn’t have to choose between sporting ambition and academic success — they can excel at both.

The Bradford Grammar School (BGS) Tennis Academy delivers performance coaching within the framework of a first-class independent education, all on one exceptional campus. Whether your child is new to the sport or already competing at county, regional or national level, they’ll thrive in a nurturing, competitive environment designed to help them reach their full potential.

As an LTA Registered Tennis Centre, our flexible, year-round programme is fully integrated into the school timetable, ensuring players benefit from structured athletic development without compromising their academic progress.

Facilities and Coaching

Named Yorkshire’s School of the Year at the 2025 LTA Tennis Awards and Highly Commended nationally, BGS is proud to be recognised as one of the North’s most dynamic tennis schools.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our exceptional facilities and expert coaching …

Four indoor courts located in the school’s sports barn, allowing year-round play

Outdoor courts for training and competitive match play during the warmer months

Exclusive partnerships with Skipton Tennis Centre and Beckfoot & Bingley Tennis Centre, giving pupils access to Italian clay courts — ideal for developing technical, tactical, all-court players

An integrated Strength & Conditioning programme, delivered in our modern gym by expert S&C Lead Mr Nabozny, designed to enhance performance, reduce injury risk and support long-term development

Highly qualified coaching staff who bring a wealth of national and international playing and coaching experience to every session

“The school has been amazing — they’ve helped our son grow not just as a tennis player but as a person. BGS really supports students to excel in both their academics and their sport.”
