Tell us about what you’re doing now

“I’m almost through a four-year degree and I’ll be spending a year studying abroad.

Recently, I came back to BGS to speak to pupils about my experience of applying and going to University.

What is your biggest achievement to date?

“Becoming the vice-president of EUTCo (the Exeter University Theatre Company).

It is the biggest society at Exeter, having on average the most members and the oldest theatre society at the university. Managing to achieve this was amazing.

How did you get to where you are today?

“Hard work, a commitment to believing in myself and being the best that I can be.

Understanding that you are your own advocate, and everything else: school, family and friends, merely exert an influence on you that is up to you to accept or neglect.

What are your fondest memories of Bradford Grammar School?

“The Theatre Department is outstanding in comparison to other private schools.

The tech equipment and theatre space provide students with real opportunity. It is in this environment that my fondest memories at Bradford were formed.”

How did Bradford Grammar School prepare you for further study/your career?

“The teachers themselves played a massive part in guiding me through the process of applying to University.

The opportunity of the Extended Project Qualification was really useful as an insight into a University-style project.”

What advice would you give to current pupils at Bradford Grammar School?

“Never give up. It gets tough. School is a balancing act of work, friendships and extra-curricular commitments.

Be your own person and don’t be afraid to pursue what you love.

“The teachers themselves played a massive part in guiding me through the process of applying to university.”
