Extra Curricular Activities
Students are encouraged to participate in the extensive extra-curricular clubs and societies available at BGS, especially, though not exclusively, the Debating and Philosophical Societies.
Sixth formers are currently organising the school’s Carbon Debt Forest Project, which involves encouraging younger pupils to look at their carbon footprint, engaging them in the idea that each individual needs to do something about it, and organising the planting of 3000 trees on land donated to the school for the project.
In the Arts, sixth formers take a lead in productions, both Sixth Form productions through Theatre Studies, and those instigated by the Music and Drama departments.
In sport sixth formers are encouraged to help younger pupils in their sport. There is also the opportunity to take the rugby coaching and pool life guarding qualifications.
