Bradford Grammar School aims to create a happy and supportive school environment, which promotes tolerance, mutual respect, hard work and trust.
Pastoral care is central to achieving this aim and to ensuring that all our pupils realise their full potential.
Each pupil has a form teacher with whom he or she has daily contact. Form teachers are the cornerstone of a pastoral team that includes Heads of Year and the Assistant Head (Pastoral).
Pupils' progress is monitored and reported to parents twice a term. Where problems arise they are dealt with, in the first instance, by form teachers. Heads of Year, often in consultation with parents, assume responsibility for the more serious pastoral problems. In very serious cases the matter will be dealt with by the Assistant Head (Pastoral) and Deputy Head.
We strongly believe that effective pastoral care is a partnership between school, parents and pupils.
