Success on court

The Bradford Grammar School Squash Club caters for all levels of player, with the ultimate aim being to enable all pupils to achieve their maximum potential whilst enjoying the routines and controlled games which are used during coaching sessions. Currently, three members of staff give up their own time to run coaching sessions and matches against other schools.

The Squash Club operates at lunchtime throughout the week and every Wednesday afternoon (both on-site and at Heaton Tennis and Squash Club). Matches are played after school or on a Wednesday afternoon. Each year group is allocated a specific lunchtime session within the week and all are welcome on a Wednesday afternoon. We currently run teams at U13, U14, U15 and U19 levels. Our fixture list has been enhanced in recent years by our inclusion in the England Schools Championships.

Over the past couple of seasons a number of our players have benefited from some additional coaching funded by England Squash which has also developed further our link with the Heaton Club.

Our most successful player to date is Phil Rushworth who represented Yorkshire and England at U15 level and is now the Head Coach at Wimbledon Tennis and Squash Club and was recently interviewed in The Squash Player magazine.
