In the swing

The Golf Society is a small but growing society within school. Practice takes place on a Wednesday afternoon and Thursday lunchtime, mainly in the Autumn and Spring terms. Pupils do not have to have any prior experience and are very welcome to ‘give it a go’ and see how they get on. The school uses the facilities at Shay Grange and clubs can be provided for those starting out.

This year the Society held an informal nine-hole competition at Shay Grange. The weather was perfect and the talent of those who took part was very evident. Each year there is a competition match against the Old Bradfordians, who in recent years have beaten the school convincingly. However, this year the school beat the Old Bradfordians, much to the OBs’ surprise!

There are plans to enter two teams in the Independent Schools Golf Competition. This will be a first for the school and we look forward to seeing how they fare.
