The outstanding facilities of the Music School reinforce the reputation Bradford Grammar School has as a centre of excellence for music in West Yorkshire. The Music School is fully equipped with classrooms, a recording studio, auditorium and 12 private teaching rooms for individual instrument tuition. Pupils have opportunities to participate in musical performance in the school orchestras, choirs, wind band, concert band, jazz band and guitar group. There are frequent choral and orchestral concerts, as well as recitals at lunchtimes. In recent years school choirs have performed in the cathedrals of Durham and Ripon, York Minister and on tour in Italy and Belgium. The school offers a number of scholarships to pupils of outstanding musical talent. Pupils have won choral and organ scholarships at Oxford and Cambridge Colleges and the list of distinguished Old Bradfordians includes the composer Frederick Delius and Harry Bramma.
