At Bradford Grammar School we offer all pupils from the age of 14 onwards the opportunity to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The school offers both the Bronze and the Gold Awards and will support those who wish to do the Silver Award outside of school.
The Bronze DofE programme has four sections, Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition and takes twelve months to complete. The Gold DofE programme also takes twelve months to complete. Pupils must be at least 16 to undertake the Gold Award. There are five sections to the Award, Volunteering, Physical, Skills, Expedition and Residential.
Full details of the Award programme can be found on their website, www.DofE.org.
There are now nearly 240 Bradford Grammar School students who have achieved their Bronze Award. A further 55 have completed their Silver Award and over 30 have achieved the Gold Award. Last year 110 pupils took part in the Bronze Award and this year there are over 130 Fourth Form pupils taking part.
