The Art Department consists of five purpose built studios, four of which are used by all pupils from Year 4 in the Junior School through to the Fifth Form in Senior School. The Sixth Form have their own Art studio for AS and A level study. There are four full-time and one part-time members of staff who teach across the whole age range with varied specialisms. The department is, however, primarily a Fine Art department specialising in painting and drawing.
Examination results are excellent at both GCSE and A level with pupils achieving high marks in both coursework and timed submission.
The department exhibits its work around the whole school and holds full school exhibitions inviting pupils, parents and staff from both our own school and other institutions. The department also produces set designs for theatrical productions in school and organises Art trips on an annual basis both in this country and abroad. Places visited include Paris, Rome, Florence, Amsterdam, New York, Cornwall and the East Coast.
