Lower School Drama present 'Alice', based on the Lewis Caroll's classic tale.  Sheffield playwright, Laura Wade brings you wonderland as you have never seen it before.  In the middle is Alice, a young girl with a vivid imagination and a family life that is less than perfect.
Thursday 12 and Friday 13 December at 6pm in the Hockney Theatre - Free Admission.
On 1 February 2014, 1 - 3:00pm, Bradford Chinese School will present an event of singing, dance and music to celebrate 2014 Chinese New Year - the Year of the Horse.  The venue will be the Price Hall and the star of the show is the 16 year old talented pianist Yuanfan Yang, keyboard category winner of  BBC Young Musician 2012.  The line-up includes:  Lion dance, Beijing opera, Indian dance, Chinese folk singing and music played by traditional Chinese instruments.  Our own pupils provide poem reading, singing, dance and music.  Light Chinese refreshments will be provided after the concert.  Tickets cost 5 and will be available from the Secretarial Office in school with effect  from 7 December.  For more information contact info@bradfordchineseschool.org.uk. We will be running the Cricket Academy after the Christmas holiday commencing Friday 10 January.  The course is open to students aged 10 and over and runs each Friday (other than 7 February) from 4:15-6:15pm in the Sports Hall.  The cost for the 5 sessions will be 40.  Any queries or to register your interest contact Mrs Truby.

In common with other Independant Schools, Public Schools and some State Schools, BGS is fortunate in having a Combined Cadet Force.  CCF has an Army and Royal Air Force Section and is open to boys and girls from 12 years 9 months (Year 8) to Year 13.  It provides an opportunity for cadets to develop leadership skills, self-discipline/reliance, team work and personal/civic pride in readiness for the wider world.  Training takes place on Tuesday between 4:30-6:00pm and encompasses many and varied activities.  Annual and weekend camps are also available at various military establishments.  An added bonus is the opportunity to complete sections of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.  For further details and if you are interested in becoming a CCF volunteer telephone Major Stott on 01274 553772.
