BGS hosts politicians at ‘Question Time’

16th February 2017

On the 3 February, as part of our enrichment programme, Mr Simpson organised for Years 12 and 13 to take part in a Bradford Grammar School style Question Time. On the panel we had Labour MP John Mann, Conservative MP Stuart Andrew and Liberal Democrat Lord Wallace of Saltaire. Filling David Dimbleby’s role were Theo Azfar and Billy Lucas, both from Year 12.

The event was very informative and involved discussions on a wide range of topics including the Labour Party, electoral systems, representation of women in politics and of course Brexit and Donald Trump. At times it got very heated, especially when discussing the north-south divide, which definitely ‘divided opinion on the panel! The event was very interesting, intriguing and helpful to gain an insight into politics.
